Why do i need protein? I already feel strong ! And i don't go to the gym.

Understanding the basic requirement of one of the 3 macro nutrients is very important. If you think you don't need protein to live a healthier and disease free life you are actually thinking to build a house without bricks.


Protein is the building block of human body and every cell is created by protein. It also gives required energy to the cells and repairs all the broken down tissues. Now if this major miracle macronutrient is deficit in body we start facing challenges majorly life style disorders. That is because the required protein levels are not met as per the world health organisation body starts getting low on immunity and auto immune diseases is what we start to have in later part of the ages.

Daily requirement of protein for a common person who is not exercising and into a sedentary lifestyle also requires minimum of 1 gm protein per kg of bodyweight. And the fact is that Indian diet is almost 80% deficit in protein. We are more inclined to carbs and fats. "9 of 10 Indians lack adequate protein" this is the heading in times of India from 3rd June 2015.

What are the causes ?

1. Food habits in indian culture

2. More inclination towards junk food

3. Quality of food & adulteration

4.Quality of soil has depreciated a lot due to excess usage of chemicals & UREA which has dissolved the complete life cycle including non vegetarians.


How do i manage my daily protein requirement ?

1. Get a protein calculator app and feed in what ever you eat in whole day, you will have a basic tentative idea about the amount of gap you have for protein in your diet

2. Add foods which are good in protein and less in fat

3. Avoid junk food and fast food

4. Add good organic protein supplement if requirement is still not met, depending on your physical activity.


If you follow the above tips, i am sure you will be able to feel more energetic, lively and lead a life which will give you healthy living and healthy ageing.

Get your bricks in right amount and make them strong you will have a beautiful home built where you will enjoy living happily.
